Ebony Springs – Ginigathena, Sri Lanka

Hidden amongst the misty tea hills of central Sri Lanka is the exclusive Ebony Springs. This is a gem of a property catering for special clients who want to get away from the hustle and bustle. The bungalow is tastefully appointed and very comfortable. Service is discreet and your every need is catered for.

Just two and-a-half hours from Colombo, Ebony Springs is an hour from Sri Lanka's 'Little England' - Nuwara Eliya, capital of the high mountain country and 45 minutes from Sri Lanka’s white-water rafting capital of Kitulgala.

Ebony Springs is owned and operated by Sri Lanka tea growing and manufacturing legend, Mr Bernard Holsinger and his lovely wife, Pauline. Bernard has been involved with growing tea, its production and marketing for almost 50 years. The property has its own tea gardens and mini tea factory producing some of the worlds finest specialty teas, particularly, 'silver tips' and 'gold tips'. Bernard will take you right through the entire tea process. You can even make and taste your own tea!

Pauline Holsinger is wonderful cook and host. Your taste buds will be tantalised by some of her traditional eastern and western cuisine, home made jams, pickles and spices. You will sample some of the best local tropical fruits, fresh vegetables and delicious Sri Lankan specialties.

For the adventure -minded, guided hiking tours through the tea hill country can be organised. Day trips to Nuwara Eliya and visits to the famous St Clair's and Devon waterfalls can be organised.

Ebony Springs is highly recommended by Isle of Smiles – Sri Lanka Luxury Travel.

Caspersz Family in Sri Lanka:

We have just got back after spending 12 beautiful days travelling around Sri Lanka. It was the most wonderful holiday and we all had the most wonderful time. Every hotel, Bungalow and farm stay was amazing. A highlight for all of us was the stay at 'Ebony Springs' with Bernard and Pauline. The food was amazing, the accommodation very comfortable, quiet and restful and the attention paid to us all by the hosts was truely humbling. We all left refreshed and wanting more - a really enjoyable stay. So thank you all at 'Isle of Smiles' for organising such a 'once in a lifetime' experience of travelling through the beautiful Sri Lanka - it will never be forgotten.
